About
Kevin Shepherd is an experienced criminal defense attorney with extensive trial experience. He handles all levels of criminal charges, including Driving Under the Influence cases. Kevin zealously defends his clients with a high level of energy. He puts his clients’ interests first and has no problem proceeding to trial when necessary. Kevin has defended clients in numerous jury trials throughout northeast Kansas over the course 21-year legal career.
Kevin graduated from Washburn University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. He taught high school for 3 full years before attending law school at Washburn University. Kevin graduated from the Washburn University School of Law with Dean’s Honors. On September 29, 2000, Kevin was admitted to the Kansas Bar.
Kevin clerked as a research attorney for the Kansas Appellate Court for his first two years in the practice of law. In July, 2002, Kevin opened his own law firm and specialized in criminal defense. With comprehensive attention to detail and an aggressive approach in courtroom proceedings, Kevin became a seasoned litigator. He earns the respect of colleagues, opposing counsel, and the judges.
In March, 2021, the law firm of Ralston, Pope & Diehl, LLC hired Kevin as an associate attorney. Kevin continues his advocacy in criminal defense matters for Ralston, Pope & Diehl, LLC, adding another dimension to highly successful team of lawyers.
Kevin is a member of the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Kevin is admitted to the Kansas Bar, U.S District Court of Kansas, and the U.S District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
Kevin is a fanatic about exercise and health. He regularly participates in cross-fit activities and runs with his dog, Mia.
